"Goodness, my diapers have never caused a havoc. And I thought it was only in America where people get paranoid but I see it's a national thing too. Duh, the airports do the same thing here at the x ray machines like they do in the states. I have even been pulled aside once and they saw my diapers and saw one on me and said nothing about it. They just let me go. They didn't tell me to take it off either and put it in a bag and I was wet then."

"I get changed in family restrooms or changing rooms or in the backseat of our car. My husband changed me once in a park but we did it in a area here there was no people and for anyone to see, they would have to walk up to us or use a pair of binoculars and we did have a blanket with us too. When alone I have used single rooms for families to change myself. I could change in the public restrooms and I do that if I have to but if I am messy, I find a family restroom or changing room."

"My husband has bought them for me when I first told him about my condition and he still buys them for me. He likes trying different diapers on me. I wouldn't count my parents as getting me them as a gift because they were medical use. But my mom did get me printed diapers once so I guess I can call that a gift."

"My husband and I have done it and I always have accidents because of my IC. I will wet my big girl panties and he puts me back in diapers again after having too many accidents. I am always on a bed pad so I won't get any furniture all wet. Every accident I have on the floor, my husband cleans it up immediately and then he cleans me up.
I did have a wetting doll as a kid and I remember my mom telling me I would use up those dolly diapers fast they stopped buying me them and they wished they never got me that doll in the first place. Instead I had to sit her on something as if she was being potty trained. I didn't play with the doll long so it sat in my room for years before I got rid of it at one of our garage sales. I didn't play with it and I felt it was a waste of money if you have to keep buying diapers you throw out. Why not make dolly cloth diapers and plastic pants for it? But I did have Potty Training Kelly and she did it in the toilet it came with. You give her a bottle with water in it and put her on her little toilet and squeeze her belly and water drips out her bottom like it was a eye drop. I used to have her wet herself through her clothes and then pretend to have her cry about it so her mom puts her back in diapers saying she needs to wear them and must accept it. That game always made me feel better because she needed them too like me."

"I still can't get my head around to understand why someone would want to be incontinent. I know it's so they can have a legitimate reason to wear but there is such thing as fibbing. I also know so they can feel like a real baby but babies are not incontinent. They do not wet uncontrollably. They just don't understand how to use the bathroom or how to hold it and we did basically train them to go in their pants so they stop trying to hold it and then they eventually forget about it. But them wetting themselves is not the same how us IC folks do it. At least toddlers don't piss over the place while you're changing them and I do that like an infant and I don't like it. I always have to hope I don't have an accident until my diaper is put on. Pooping is the worst. Also cleaning up after a messy accident is a pain in the butt. Also going on trips is hard because you have t make sure you bring enough supplies and it's not always guaranteed you will find a place that sells decent adult diapers. Also the fact it takes up room in the car when you bring a bunch of packs.
@plasticman, your story made me feel angry for your friend. Even though his IC wasn't medical, she didn't know that and she still left him with the kids because she "didn't want a baby." That's pretty insulting to the IC community. I was dumped once when he found out about my IC but it was because he had an issue with poop and pee and he couldn't handle the fact he would be with someone for the rest of his life who poops and pees herself. He also had an issue with people not wiping themselves properly. But it was good he knew before hand or else I would have wasted more of my time with him. But how would she have to take care of him? IC people take care of it themselves.
But I disagree with about not being able to drink or go on holidays and be with friends. You just have to be comfortable with people finding out and get comfortable telling your friends before hand so they know what to expect and to see if they are okay with it. I am not much of a drinker but I have had a few sips here and there and managed to get drunk once and that didn't go so well. But I find people don't really care what you have on under your clothes."
